Title Treatment of Laotian children with heart disease
Date 2013.10.15 Link

I am so happy to see my child breathing, who could barely breathe before.
While Bounmy, who is 4 years old and came from Laos, was excited to unpack the present from medical team, Bounmys father read the letter with joy.

On October 11th,2013, there was a celebration for recovery of little angels from Laos at the patients room on 7th floor of Gachon University Gil Medical Center Heart Center. Many of the medical members along with Dr. Lee Geun, the president of the hospital, attended with presents for the children and wished for their wellbeing. Parents read their letters to express gratitude toward the medical team.

Bounmy and Mai Dee (7, Laos) were VSD patients; their parents knew about the heart disease, but they were too poor to bring their kids to hospital. Two children were saved with the help of Healthcare and Hope Alliance and Embassy of the Republic of Korea in Laos. Yoido Full Gospel Church and the Korean Cardiac Research Foundation also supported the project. The children entered Korea on October 3th, and went back to Laos on 15th after successful surgeries.

Since 1996, Gachon University Gil Medical Center has been inviting children with heart diseases from Mongolia, Iraq, Kyrgyzstan and 13 other developing countries, but it was the first time to invite children from Laos this time.
