Introduction

Department of anesthesiology performs a variety of tasks from anesthesia and sedation for surgery to acute / chronic pain control. Surgery causes various body reactions depending on patient's underlying disease, systemic condition, and type of surgery. Anesthesiologists help maintain the body's homeostasis by controlling hemodynamic instability due to surgical stress, weakened lung function, changes of the hormonal system, and inflammatory reactions of the whole body, so that patients can undergo surgery and recover safely. From infants to elderly patients, from simple surgery to complex and risky surgery, we provide customized anesthesia for each patient. In addition to anesthesia, it is also responsible for controlling pain. Through outpatient treatment, we provide a variety of treatments, including acute pain management after surgery, various spinal diseases, musculoskeletal pain, chronic pain caused by various causes such as cancer pain, and neuralgia after herpes infection.
